Southern Virginia University Theatre Presents “Into The Woods,” First Live, In-Person Musical Since 2019

Nov. 22, 2021 — Southern Virginia University Theatre returned for the first live, in-person musical since 2019 with the highly anticipated production of “Into the Woods,” written by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim. The production opened on Nov. 11 and its final performance took place on Nov. 20.

Accompanied by her husband Elder Randall K. Bennett of the First Quorum of the Seventy, the couple each shared uplifting messages on faith, individual worth, and service.

Oct. 14, 2021 — Southern Virginia University’s philosophy professors Dr. John Armstrong, Dr. Jan-Erik Jones, and Dr. Bryce Gessell have eliminated textbook costs for every new student who takes their foundational philosophy course by compiling a free, media-rich, digital textbook.

Oct. 6, 2021 — Iana Konstantinova, Professor of Spanish and Division Chair of Social Sciences at Southern Virginia University, co-edited and recently published a critical anthology book on Spanish Metafiction in collaboration with Dr. Sabrina Laroussi, who is an associate professor at the Virginia Military Institute.

University to Limit Homecoming Attendance Due to COVID-19 Precautions

Oct. 5, 2021 — To help minimize the spread of COVID-19, Southern Virginia University’s Homecoming football game and men’s soccer match on Saturday, Oct. 16, will be the only homecoming events this fall open to the public and campus visitors.
