Spending Memorial Day in Service: Students Volunteer at the Washington D.C. Temple Open House

June 1, 2022 — On the morning of Memorial Day, more than 40 Southern Virginia University students and members of the Buena Vista Virginia Young Single Adult Stake loaded onto a bus and traveled to Kensington, Md., where they spent their holiday volunteering at the Open House for the newly renovated Washington D.C. Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Math Major Co-authors COVID-19 Medical Research Paper Published in International Forum

March 16, 2022 — In conjunction with medical professionals from the Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), Southern Virginia University student Spencer Dennis (‘22) served as the co-first author of the medical research paper “Population differences between COVID-19 and other postviral olfactory dysfunction: Results from a large case-control study” published to the International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology.

Oct. 6, 2021 — Iana Konstantinova, Professor of Spanish and Division Chair of Social Sciences at Southern Virginia University, co-edited and recently published a critical anthology book on Spanish Metafiction in collaboration with Dr. Sabrina Laroussi, who is an associate professor at the Virginia Military Institute.
