Newly Elected Alumni Association Executive Committee Announced
Southern Virginia University and Alumni Association President J.D. Drasbek (‘16) are pleased to announce the newly elected officers of the Alumni Association Executive Committee. The four new officers are Adam Cubbage (‘08), Amy Nuzman (‘07), Crissy Egbert (‘15), and Jenna Anderson (‘08). Paul Candland (‘22) will continue in his role as vice president of leader–servantship and Kamryn Meyer (‘25) as the advancement and alumni coordinator.
“We are quite grateful to Southern Virginia University and the new, former, and continuing members of our Alumni Association Leadership for the commitment to living a life of service in support of our incredible mission,” said Drasbek. “With this increased team power from our extremely impressive alumni and absolute unity with our university, we look forward to continuing the legacy of service and building upon our firm foundation.”
Adam Cubbage (‘08) | Vice President of Networking

A Georgia native, Adam Cubbage brings a diverse background in commercial banking, finance, and sports media to his new role as vice president of networking.
Cubbage earned a degree in business management from SVU in 2008 while competing as the No. 1 singles and doubles player for the men’s tennis team. He also played baseball and later served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Panama City, Panama.
Today, Cubbage serves as a VP underwriter and analyst at a private commercial bank, where he helps manage a commercial financial portfolio of approximately $650 million. Additionally, he has covered the business of sports since 2011 and launched the “Because of Sports Podcast” in 2016, interviewing prominent media personalities such as Mina Kimes, Field Yates, and Taylor Rooks. He lives in California with his wife, Amanda (’13), whom he met at SVU, and their twin daughters.
“SVU has impacted my life in so many positive ways,” said Cubbage. “When I was presented the opportunity to help with the organization and highlighting of our alumni base, I couldn’t pass that up.”
Amy Nuzman (‘07) | Vice President of Gathering

Originally from Arizona, Amy Nuzman brings a background in event planning and community building to her new role as vice president of gathering.
Nuzman attended Brigham Young University and served in the Santa Cruz, Bolivia Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before transferring to Southern Virginia University. She earned a degree in business management from SVU in 2007 and competed on both the cross country and volleyball teams.
She began her career at The Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia before serving as a project manager and events planner for ClearChoice Management Services in Colorado. Today, Nuzman teaches seminary in Texas, where she lives with her husband Scott and their five children.
“What makes SVU special to me is not only the education made available to every Knight, but how kindness shapes the campus, continued learning guides our futures, and hard work defines who we become,” said Nuzman. “These are values we carry proudly as alumni throughout our lives.”
Chrissy Egbert (‘15) | Vice President of Communications

Chrissy Egbert combines passion for science, innovation, and communication as she joins the executive committee as vice president of communications.
Egbert earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from SVU in 2015 before completing a Ph.D in biochemistry at Brigham Young University in 2022. She currently works as a scientist at Recursion, where she leads programs at the intersection of AI-driven drug discovery and oncology, combining computational methodologies with biological research to accelerate therapeutic development.
“Southern Virginia University and the people that make it so special have made such great sacrifices to give us our wings to fly,” said Egbert. “It is my strongest desire to give back and to play a small role in continuing to further our grand university mission. I am absolutely thrilled to hit the ground running and continue to see miracles happen in and outside our university community.”
Jenna Anderson (‘08) | Secretary

Jenna Anderson’s long history of leadership and service at SVU continues as she joins the executive committee as secretary.
Anderson graduated in 2008 with a degree in liberal arts and minors in music and English. While at SVU, she served as student association president, vice president of campus programming, a traveling student ambassador, and was the university’s first senate secretary. She also sang in the Chamber Choir and performed violin in summer musical orchestras.
Anderson currently works as a government contractor and transcriptionist for Language on Demand, providing services to multiple government agencies. She also serves as a producer for ElevenLabs, creating subtitles, captions, and transcripts for podcasts and multimedia platforms. Outside of her professional work, Anderson directs a volunteer art program in the Washington, D.C. area where she lives with her husband and two children.
“The work ethic and values I learned at SVU have continued to guide me in my professional and personal life,” said Anderson. “I continue to use those skills and abilities to serve in my community, as well as foster relationships with those that I work with. I look forward to helping facilitate positive change, connect with alumni across all graduation years and walks of life, and finding ways to build a stronger sense of belonging for all SVU Knights.”
