Sheri Dew to Deliver Forum Address at Southern Virginia University April 6
Southern Virginia University is delighted to welcome Sheri Dew to campus for a special all-school forum this Thursday, Apr. 6, at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center, as part of the Institute for Writing and Mass Media lecture series. To ensure everyone is able to attend, this Thursday, April 6, the 11 a.m. hour will follow a Friday class schedule, and Friday, April 7, the 11 a.m. hour will follow a Thursday class schedule.
Sheri Dew is one of the most recognized and influential voices within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She currently serves as the CEO of Deseret Book Company and the executive vice president of Deseret Managing Corporation. She is a best-selling author and public speaker whose books include No Doubt About It, Women and the Priesthood, and Amazed By Grace. Her most recent book, Worth the Wrestle, was published in early 2017. She is also the author of the official biographies of LDS Church Presidents Gordon B. Hinckley and Ezra Taft Benson.
Sheri Dew served as a member of the General Presidency of the Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1997–2002, and has been a White House delegate to the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations. She is a graduate of Brigham Young University and currently serves on the National Advisory Council of BYU’s Marriott School of Management.
Southern Virginia faculty, staff, and students, as well as community members are invited to attend this special all-school forum on Thursday, Apr. 6, at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center. Recordings of past forum and devotional speeches are available on svu.edu.
