University Leaders Speak on “Resilience” at Forum
BUENA VISTA, Va. — A panel of seven university leaders from Student Life and the Athletics department addressed students, faculty and staff gathered in the Stoddard Center at Southern Virginia University on Friday, Sept. 30, on the topic of “Resilience.”
Speakers included: Dr. Charles Bowen, vice-president of Student Life; Deidra Dryden, head women’s tennis coach and Title IX Coordinator; Dr. Joseph Bouchelle, Dean of Students; Jason Hinds, assistant track and field coach; Heather Roberts, women’s basketball coach; Michael Gibbons, director of student support; and Jason Lamb, director of athletics.
Specifically addressing those who may be feeling overwhelmed at this point in the semester, the panel members shared messages of hope, the importance of maintaining gratitude during hard times, and relying on faith to move forward in the face of doubt.
