The Southern Virginia University Student Honor Council will present the annual honor forum entitled, “Live Like You Believe,” Friday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center at Southern Virginia University.

Esther Harsh, student executive council vice president of honor, will conduct the 2012 honor forum. Speakers will include Joseph Bouchelle, associate dean of students at Southern Virginia, and students including Chrissy Egbert, Jessica Spaulding Sorensen, Brandon Alexander and members of the honor council.

The honor forum is an annual event to inspire students, faculty, and staff to actively participate in creating honor at Southern Virginia University and in their daily lives. As in past years, a copy of the Code of Honor will be given to all who attend the forum.

In addition to honor forum, the honor council has planned several events for honor week. Activities include free haircuts for men, a “Fight for Honor” flour war, a service project, a movie night and free dance instruction in preparation for the honor ball, which will feature the Virginia Military Institute Commanders Jazz Band.

Community members and Southern Virginia faculty, staff and students are invited to hear forum and devotional speakers each Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center. Recordings of past forum and devotional speeches may be accessed online.
