Retired Navy Captain to Speak at Annual Veterans Luncheon
Retired Navy Captain Michael Stolarz will speak at the annual veterans luncheon hosted by the Southern Virginia University Women’s Society on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 12 p.m. in the Stoddard Center. All military service veterans and their spouses are invited to attend.
Captain Stolarz enlisted in the Navy in 1960 in San Antonio, Texas. He served for more than thirty-eight years, retiring from active duty in 1999. He has received many medals and awards, including The Legion of Merit medal and the Humanitarian Service medal. He also is an active member in multiple military fraternal associations and veteran service organizations. He and his wife Shirley have two children and five grandchildren and live near Fairfield, Va.
