Trustee Lynette Gay to Speak at Homecoming Devotional Oct. 14

Lynette Gay, a member of the board of trustees at Southern Virginia University, will give the homecoming devotional address on Friday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center at Southern Virginia University.

Gay is managing director of Kensington Capital Children’s Fund, and serves on the board of directors for Engage Now Africa. She has been active in leadership roles with several humanitarian service organizations, including Ascend Alliance and Family Watch International.

She is a certified medical assistant and has organized and worked in rural medical clinics throughout Africa. From 2004 to 2007, she and her husband presided over the Ghana Accra Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She and her husband, Elder Robert C. Gay, a member of the Sixth Quorum of the Seventy of the Church, were the recipients of Brigham Young University’s 2003 President’s Award.

The Gays have seven children and reside in Wellington, Fla.

Community members and Southern Virginia faculty, staff and students are invited to hear forum and devotional speakers each Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center. Recordings of past forum and devotional speeches may be accessed online.
