LDS Church’s D.C. Public and International Affairs Director to Speak at Devotional March 25

Lance Walker, the director of public and international affairs for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Washington, D.C., will give a devotional address entitled, “A Friend to All Nations,” Friday, March 25, at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center at Southern Virginia University.

Walker previously worked on Capitol Hill for seven years in the offices of Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah and Jeff Flake of Arizona. During that time he was a legislative assistant responsible for a range of policy issues, including foreign affairs.

He also has worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers — the world’s largest professional services firm — and various technology companies.

He received a bachelor’s degree in business management with an emphasis in information systems from Brigham Young University.

Walker served a full-time mission in the central region of Australia. He and his wife, Kelly, live with their three children — two daughters and one son — in Vienna, Va.

Community members and Southern Virginia faculty, staff and students are invited to hear forum and devotional speakers each Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center. Recordings of past forum and devotional speeches may be accessed online.
