Entrepreneur Raymond D. Zinn to Speak at Forum Nov. 4
Raymond D. Zinn, president and CEO of Micrel, Inc., will give a forum entitled, “The Price of Success,” on Friday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center at Southern Virginia University.
Zinn co-founded Micrel, Inc., a semiconductor company based in San José, Calif., in 1978. He also chairs the company’s board of directors. Micrel is an industry leader in analog and power management integrated circuits, rated as the ninth best small company in the country by Forbes.
Zinn previously held various management and manufacturing executive positions in the semiconductor industry at Electromask TRE, Electronic Arrays, Inc., Teledyne, Inc., Fairchild Semiconductor Corporation and Nortek, Inc.
He received a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from Brigham Young University in 1960 and a master’s degree in business administration from San José State University in 1968.
He and his wife, DeLona, have four children and 13 grandchildren.
Community members and Southern Virginia faculty, staff and students are invited to hear forum and devotional speakers each Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center. Recordings of past forum and devotional speeches may be accessed online.
