Elder Paul K. Sybrowsky to Speak at Devotional Nov. 18

Elder Paul K. Sybrowsky, a former member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will give a devotional address on Friday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center at Southern Virginia University.

Elder Sybrowsky served as a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy of the Church from April 2005 to April 2011 — his service included presiding over the Australia Area of the Church and serving as an assistant executive director in the Church History and Audiovisual Departments. He has held many other leadership positions in the Church, including service as president of the Canada Toronto West Mission, a stake president, a stake president’s counselor, a bishop and a high councilor.

Professionally, he has served as vice-president of sales and marketing at CTI and as co-founder and president of Dynix Library Systems. He also has served on the Brigham Young University President’s Leadership Council, as chair of the board of trustees of Utah Valley State College and as chair of the Provo Public Library Board. He has been recognized as Utah’s Small Businessman of the Year as well as Utah’s Entrepreneur of the Year in the field of technology.

Elder Sybrowsky received a bachelor’s degree in social science from BYU in 1968.

He and his wife, Lynne, are the parents of nine children.

Community members and Southern Virginia faculty, staff and students are invited to hear forum and devotional speakers each Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center. Recordings of past forum and devotional speeches may be accessed online.
