Southern Virginia University to Hold Honor Forum Jan. 22

Arianne Forsling, Ben Burningham and Richard Stuart who are all part of the Southern Virginia University community will speak at the honor forum at Southern Virginia University Friday, January 22, at 11 a.m.

The forum will show video clips of individuals from the campus community expressing what the honor code means to them. Following the video, the speakers will address the importance of having and following the university honor code.

Arianne Forsling is a freshman from La Crescenta, Calif. She recently returned from serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Texas Houston Spanish-speaking mission.

Ben Burningham graduated from Southern Virginia University in May 2009. He is currently the running back coach for the university football team. He and his wife, Holly, currently live in Buena Vista, Va. Later this year, he will start law school while Holly will finish her master’s in special education.

Richard Stuart is the director of the Church Education System’s Institute of Religion for Southern Virginia University and bishop of the Buena Vista University Second Ward. He lives in Buena Vista with his wife, Pamela, and their children.

Community members and Southern Virginia faculty, staff and students are invited to hear forum and devotional speakers each Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center. Recordings of past forum and devotional speeches may be accessed online athttp://hub.svu.edu/speeches/forums.aspx.
