Annual Majors Fair Feb. 19

Southern Virginia University will hold its annual majors fair Friday, February 19, at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center.

The majors forum introduces students to the faculty who coordinate Southern Virginia’s thirteen majors and also to those who advise students interested in pre-law and pre-health professional programs. During the first part of the forum, advisors will briefly describe their programs to the audience. The faculty will then disperse to stations around the Stoddard Center and answer questions from students one-on-one.

Graduation from Southern Virginia requires completion of core curriculum courses and a major. Students must declare a major by the end of their sophomore year.

To make it easy to declare or change a major, the registrar’s office will also be at the majors fair with the forms for collecting the necessary signatures.

Community members and Southern Virginia faculty, staff and students are invited to hear forum and devotional speakers each Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Center. Recordings of past forum and devotional speeches may be accessed online.
